——————————————————— 1978 Reunion Questionnaire ———————————————————

  1) The important people in my life (spouses, partners, children) are...

My amazing wife Vicki and my brilliant children Tyler (15) and Paige (12).

  2) I went to Westtown because…

It was the best of several considered alternatives for my family in 1974. Also, an elder sister with extremely high standardized test scores preceded me. Perhaps admissions got our files crossed?

  3) My occupation is a Manufacturing Systems Analyst and Westtown prepared me for it by …

I'm a Manufacturing Systems Analyst for Motorola Broadband. Nothing in my formal education or prior experience would suggest this particular employment avenue. It's my 3rd discrete occupation & I "fell" into it as a result of the Y2K crisis. I work quite a bit on mergers and acquisitions and this often brings me in contact with distressed people. More than once, on mentioning Westtown and Quakerism, I find people suddenly more forthcoming and relaxed. I then have to live up to an un-earned reputation for empathy and reasonableness. Westtown is a disarming credential.

  4) My life’s greatest moments and challenges (to date) would be …

My greatest moments are watching my children grow each day. My greatest challenge is recognizing those moments, real-time.

  5) Westtown’s most inspirational faculty, classmate, friend (multiple choices accepted) would have to be …

I'm uncomfortable naming a "person" as then I'd think again and feel I left someone out.

Westtown's most inspirational facility...The North woods, hands down!

  6) The most memorable time I broke the rules would be when I …

Okay, yes, I did wander astray a bit
.

  7) Was there a point in your life when you recognized any benefit from your time at Westtown?

Just this morning I noted I've got more dandelions in my front lawn than anyone but the Quaker family down the street. They aren't stressed about it either!

  8) Do you plan to attend the 25th year reunion in May?

Absolutely.

Note to Eric S., Hello long lost friend. Are you aware the Dead are back on tour? We must do something about this!!!
